How to keep the fabric flat when doing complex embroidery on Pique Knitted Fabric?

When embroidering intricate designs on pique knit fabric, it can be very difficult to keep the fabric flat. However, there are some tips that can help you achieve a flat surface.
One common method is to use an embroidery hoop or frame to keep the fabric taut and flat. It is important to choose a hoop or frame that is slightly larger than the design area. Place the fabric evenly and firmly on the hoop and tighten until the fabric is secure.
Stabilizers provide additional support and also help prevent fabric from wrinkling and stretching. There are different types, including tear-away stabilizers, cut-away stabilizers, and water-soluble stabilizers. Before you start embroidering, please follow the instructions that come with the stabilizer to properly attach it to the fabric.
If the fabric still won't lie flat in the hoop, you can use pins to keep it in place. Gently and carefully pin along the edges to keep the dough flat and taut. Be careful not to damage the fabric or yourself with the pins.
Printed Pique Cloth
If the fabric has wrinkles or creases, apply a pressing cloth and iron at a low temperature to smooth out the wrinkles. Place the press cloth on top of the fabric and press down lightly. Test the iron on a small inconspicuous area first to prevent damage.
Keeping the fabric taut is important, but too much tension can cause the fabric to warp or stretch. Do not overtighten the hoop or frame. The seams may be uneven or wrinkled. Adjust the tension as needed to keep the dough flat and not overstretch.
It is important to take breaks and check the dough regularly. If you notice that the piece is starting to wrinkle or warp, correct it by adjusting the tension or repositioning the fabric within the hoop. Taking a step back and evaluating the fabric will help you catch problems early.
By following these tips, you have a better chance of keeping the fabric flat when creating intricate embroidery on pique knit fabric. Please be patient and take your time for best results.
